Banyan House Samui B&B - Adults Only

For anyone watching their budget, or travelling solo and happier with early mornings than late nights, I’d recommend it. We were a couple staying just one night, and it was pleasant. The room was quaint and clean, with no mosquitoes. The owner was really sweet and helpful. I find the negative reviews hard to believe because they don’t match what we experienced. We were told the house has been in his family for over 20 years, so it felt important to remember that he’s welcoming guests into his home.

Getting around the island was easier after we rented bikes, though the beach is also reachable with a short walk. We loved our stay. The hotel is beautiful and the garden is gorgeous, making everything feel quiet and relaxing. The staff were amazing, friendly and very helpful. They arranged bike rentals and activities, and showed us around the hotel. We’d come back.

We spent a week at Banyan House over Christmas. The house and room were beautiful, decorated with so much care, and very, very clean. Breakfast was excellent, and our hosts Tok & Michael took such good care of us. It felt safe and quiet, and the price was good, so I’d absolutely recommend it. Some of the bad reviews seem to come from people who didn’t understand or respect the house policy. If that’s the case, they’d be better off staying home instead of travelling. The friendly morning chats and recommendations for places to go and things to do made the stay feel special. Breakfast was beautiful too. This traditional Thai mansion, furnished in an equally traditional English style, had a cosy, homely feel, a real home away from home. There are three of Thailand’s oldest trees in the front garden, and the care put into the house, hospitality and service was second to none. Highly recommend.
