The Summer House Samui

The hosts and people here are super nice, friendly, and helpful, but the room’s location is really poor. If you rent a downstairs room, expect constant noise from the neighbour above. You’ll hear every step, movement, and word, and just hope they keep quiet. Parties, noise, and talking can continue until 11 pm on a lucky night, or as late as 2 am. If you want to live in a bar, this is the place.

Everything felt just right, even though we only stayed one night. The room was incredibly spotless, and our host was so kind and caring. You could feel it in everything he did. We absolutely loved our stay.

We ended up in one of the small basement or staff rooms instead of a regular room. To get there, we went through a staff door where there were things that looked like they might be thrown away. The room was tiny, unclean, and had holes in the walls. No one should have to pay for a room like that.

The bungalow wasn't sea view as the online listing said. We booked for one night because we arrived late, and when we went into the room it was obvious someone had smoked in there, despite us specifically reserving a non-smoking room. That was disappointing. We asked to move, and a staff member took 40 minutes to get another room ready. The new room was fine, though the bed was a bit hard, which seems common in Thailand. Being near the airport also means you hear the planes quite loudly, but it's manageable if you expect it. It's acceptable for a night, but I wouldn't stay again.
