Elegancy Bangla Hotel

We slept well here, even with the hotel right in the middle of Bangla. It was surprisingly quiet at night. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had what we needed, including a little balcony overlooking outside. The pool on level 8 was nearly like having our own, since our room was on that floor and we never saw anybody else there. Staff were friendly, and it was handy that the hotel laundry cost the same as the shops outside. Everything in the area was walkable, so the location was excellent. Good value for where it is.

At check-in I was told the hotel couldn't accept my reservation, so I had no option but to cancel. The staff came across as cold and unwelcoming, and I didn't feel they made any effort to help. It was a very disappointing experience. After the hotel's response, I want to clarify that internal booking or technical issues don't change how important the check-in interaction is. While the situation was being explained, the communication and attitude did not feel welcoming or reassuring. I know technical problems can happen, but a calm, friendly, professional approach matters. I'm sharing this honestly in the hope future guests get a more attentive and welcoming first impression.

I had to find another hotel and pay for it that same night. I only got my refund because I had video proof. The management had told Agoda they offered a solution, but they were fully booked, and that claim was dishonest. The room I was given had a broken window facing a noisy street, which felt like a safety risk. The staff, especially Tega, was very rude and tried to intimidate me, saying I would never get a refund if I left. Defective rooms and dishonest management. Never again.

Everyone was kind and helpful, and I loved my 8 days there. The one issue was the shower in room 805, which had no hot water. Even so, I booked the same room again for April and hope that's possible. Thank you for everything. Laszlo
