Fishermen's Harbour Urban Resort

We had a pleasant and comfortable three-day stay. The rooms were neat and clean, and the staff were polite and welcoming. There were many Indian guests during our visit, with a few Indian restaurants within 100 meters. The buffet breakfast near Wave Club had a good variety and tasted nice. The main road, with its multi-cuisine restaurants, other eateries, boutiques and markets, takes a bit of walking to reach. The swimming pool was usually occupied by a group whose behaviour and gestures could be unruly. Our itinerary meant we couldn’t spend time there, and we had no regrets about that.

The pool area and the surroundings were well maintained, and Wave Club opposite the hotel was good. But the rest of our stay was pretty average. Our room had very dim lighting, damp and torn towels, and a lizard that made us uncomfortable. There was no dental kit at first, and the one we got after asking was very poor quality. When we requested plates and bowls for lunch, room service told us to collect them from the kitchen ourselves. On checkout morning, they said an extra towel would cost 100 baht, since towels aren’t provided that day, which felt unreasonable. The staff struggled with English and came across as rude and somewhat egoistic, so we didn’t feel particularly welcome. Breakfast options were limited, especially for vegetarians.

The biggest disappointment was that the swimming pool was under maintenance during my visit. In Phuket, I’d hoped to have a pool as part of the holiday experience. Otherwise, Fisherman’s Harbour was comfortable and pleasant. The rooms were clean and well kept, and daily housekeeping kept them fresh. The staff were friendly, welcoming and ready to help. The complimentary breakfast buffet offered plenty of choices, though there were no South Indian dishes for someone like me who enjoys them. The in-house gym and spa were useful additions too.

The pool lounge was a great time, with good vibes and excellent hospitality. Risky and Dony were especially friendly and attentive, and their service made the visit even better. I’d recommend the place, and special thanks to them for making it memorable 😊
