Kalim Resort

The hotel service left me very satisfied, and the reception staff are lovely. Rooms are cleaned daily. I only wish the breakfast buffet changed from morning to morning.

A good stay, with clean rooms and a breakfast that's better than average. You're still in the city, but far enough from Bangla Street to avoid much of the noise.

Really good value for the price. The rooms and large pool are both cleaned every day. There's a 7/11 and a night street food market about a five-minute walk away. Breakfast was delicious, and they also offer free ping-pong.

At around $25 USD a night with breakfast included, the room felt like a great deal. It's spacious, gets thoroughly cleaned, and they leave water in glass bottles each day. Housekeeping comes in even if you're out and haven't declined the service. There's a sign asking guests to put valuables away, but I left mine out and had no problems. The buffet was decent, especially for non-veg guests. As a vegan, I mostly ate fruit, toast, and juice, and would've liked one egg-free noodle option each day. The employees worked hard and were polite and accommodating. Just outside the resort are scooter rentals, restaurants, 7 elevens, and food vendors. The restaurant next door will make vegan food for me and includes a cup of ice with a drink from their fridge, without charging extra. There is cross-contamination, since they cook alongside non-veg food. Still, it's a quick option on days I don't want to travel across town for vegan food. The resort provides towels for the pool and beach, which is a few minutes away on foot. Kalim beach had debris along the shore, but it was still safe to swim. I'd stay here again for an affordable trip.
