Mad Monkey Phuket

Gary was a great rep and made the stay so much fun, especially the pub crawl and other activities. Everyone at mad monkey was lovely and had a big family feel. Natasha at reception was super friendly and really helpful when I booked my room.

On my spontaneous solo trip to Phuket, I first mistook Mad Monkey for a pub or bar. I was staying elsewhere, but once I realized it was a hostel, I found the bar a lively, welcoming place to meet people from all over. I made some lovely friends and spent a few evenings having drinks and chatting. I liked the energy more than the chaos on Bangla road, and now I know where I’d stay if I return to Phuket alone. The evening events were interesting and endearing, and the bar staff had such pleasant smiles. It felt absolutely safe and the location was excellent. Thanks to the hostel management for letting walk-in guests use the bar, it became a memorable part of my time in Phuket.

Mad Monkey Phuket was a great place to finish my Thailand trip and wind down. I had a private room that felt like a nice hotel room, with the social side of a party hostel too. Mila welcomed me and showed me around. I joined several pub crawls over the next few days and had the best time. I’d definitely recommend it.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and fairly quiet even with the party downstairs. The central location was handy for the beach, restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and Bangla Road. Mad Monkey felt social, fun, and well organized, with safety, respect, and autonomy given priority. Taniesha, Trinity and Nathan were fantastic reps, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. They brought great energy to the events, from pub crawls and games to quizzes and bar olympics. I’d recommend staying here whether you’re traveling solo or with a group. I’m looking forward to coming back.
