V Beach Resort

We booked rooms with pool, garden, or mountain views, but got this view in the photo instead. When we asked about what we'd booked, they told us nothing was available. I can't see the point of booking in advance only to be told later that the room isn't available. I also asked for a stand or plastic chair to hang wet clothes, something all the other rooms have but ours didn't. The reception boy said he'd bring one in 30 minutes. That 30 minutes turned into 2 whole days, and even after I reminded him on the second day, nothing happened.

Staff were very good. Whenever we had an issue, they sorted it quickly. The rooms are dated but clean, and there are a few good restaurants and a 7-11 nearby. From the hotel, it's about 30 minutes to town in heavy traffic, and the ride costs about 300 baht. Tuk tuks are a rip off, asking 500-1000. Use Grab or local app Bolt. The place is a run-down budget hotel. The pool is dangerous, with tiles half stuck down and edges sticking out, and there are no barriers. It's very deep, with only a small shallow section. Today they started repairing or renovating it, so maybe it'll be much better soon. Ground floor door locks could be opened with a sneeze, though we had no security issues and there are plenty of CCTV cameras. If you're after a budget hotel, this may be the place for you.

It's a budget-friendly place, but we booked a pool view or garden view room and were given one facing a wall instead. When we complained, they said no other rooms were available, so booking ahead with specific amenities doesn't seem guaranteed here. Our room also had no chair or stand for drying wet clothes, which is usually provided in all rooms. I kept following up with staff for 2 days, and each time they said it would be ready in “30 minutes.” The 30 minutes turned into 2 days or more, and nothing was provided.

This was the worst hotel experience I've had in my life. We booked for 3 nights for 4 people, but when we arrived the staff said they'd overbooked and our room wasn't available. They gave us a room with only 3 beds, and it was the dirtiest room I've ever seen. In the pictures you'll find pee on the toilet, mold on the walls, and dirty windows. The bed was hard like a brick. We asked the hotel to cancel our booking so we could book somewhere else. The staff said okay. They don't speak good English, but we translated for them. When we left, though, they told Booking.com they didn't want to cancel, so we got no refund. Enjoy the pictures, and please avoid this place. Thailand has so much more to offer!
