ZEN Premium Marlin Plaza Patong Hotel

The breakfast had plenty of Indian and continental choices and tasted very good, though it was so noisy I could barely hear myself talk. The pool photos online looked beautiful, but the rooftop pool I saw in person seemed different. Our first room was tiny, with barely any space to walk, just one place to charge a phone, a leaking bathroom, and a balcony door that wouldn’t lock. The night-duty lady was kind and smiling, unlike the other reception staff, who came across as commercial and never smiled. She moved us to the next room category on our first night. We were transferred at 9:30 pm after a tiring day sightseeing, but the slightly larger room was much better. Everything was fine except for a leaking kettle, which they replaced. Room maintenance needs attention, and service was very slow. Requests took 30 minutes, even after we asked repeatedly. They also took a refundable 1000 baht deposit and returned it after checking that nothing was missing or broken. The location is very good, with easy access to the walk-in market for clothes, souvenirs, good local food, and drinks. After the rough start with the first room, our stay in Phuket was alright.

Malin Plaza Market is close by and good for shopping and Thai street food. I also picked up Thailand’s famous Hong Thai Herbal Inhaler Balm there. The hotel is within walking distance of Malin Plaza and 7-Eleven, so getting around was easy. Breakfast was really good, with nice Indian food options too, which I appreciated when I wanted familiar flavors. Comfortable stay, good food, and a convenient spot in Phuket.

The good parts of the stay were the facilities, a nice breakfast, a clean pool, and overall comfortable accommodation. I also appreciated the housekeeping staff’s honesty. I’d left some Thai Baht out in the room, and when I got back it was all untouched and exactly where I’d left it. But my stay at Ashlee Plaza Patong Hotel (Building No. 2) got off to a really disappointing start. Reception staff were rude and unprofessional when they charged us 700 THB for a very small towel stain. We explained it could be cleaned easily, but they wouldn’t listen and spoke disrespectfully. It got so frustrating that we washed the towel ourselves, which delayed us and made us late for the airport. Some staff and the property were good, but that reception experience left a bad impression. Management needs to improve how guests are treated.

The hotel had a really relaxing feel, and its location was perfect. Everything was clean and well kept, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Thanks for the lovely hospitality 🙏🙏🙏
