Hotel Jomtien View Paradise

I’m sharing this so someone else doesn’t lose 1,800 baht like I did. I’d paid for four nights two weeks ahead, but the street outside was full of potholes and the hotel had no elevator. At check-in, only an elderly woman was there; she didn’t seem to know much or be responsible for the place. She handed me a key and said my room was on the fourth floor. I couldn’t manage two big suitcases up the narrow stairs, so I decided to leave and book somewhere else. When I came back, I finally met the manager and asked for some money back since I hadn’t stayed even one day. She yelled that she didn’t care whether I liked the hotel and refused, saying I’d cancelled too late. I accepted that decision, but she was very disrespectful just because I didn’t like the room. The whole experience was awful.

The room was comfortable and clean, and I enjoyed the ocean view from the balcony. There’s also a nice pool for relaxing in the sun. Jomtien View Paradise is only a short walk from the beach, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and happy to help with questions or requests. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend the place to anyone after a relaxing beach break in Pattaya.

We came from Bangkok after booking through the Oway travel app, and were really disappointed when we got here. The room they gave us was on the fifth floor, quite old, and had no lock on the toilet door, which was also difficult to open and close. The staircase was very narrow, so bringing luggage up was a struggle, and there was no luggage storage downstairs. The app had led me to expect an elevator, but the hotel doesn’t have one. The air conditioning didn’t cool properly, and the view wasn’t good either. I moved to North Pattaya Downtown, where the price was much lower. There was no option to pay extra for a room on a lower floor. The hotel was very bad, and Oway didn’t take any responsibility.

The owner is a foreigner and was really friendly and kind. The price is very low and good value compared with other rooms in the same range, and the room itself is fine. It’s near the beach and places to eat, too. There were stains on the sheets and pillows, though, and nearby shops get bloody loud at night. I wouldn’t recommend it for couples: the bed makes noise and the walls are wafer-thin. The hotel has a bit of a stink, but it’s not too bad, and you get used to it after a while.
