The Castello Resort

Once you find your way there, it feels like having your own tucked-away spot. The entrance, rooms, and garden are beautiful. Getting there is a little difficult. Garden photos below.

The staff were friendly when we checked in and out, and there’s a coffee shop and bakery on site with drinks and cakes. The Castello Hotel is okay, though older, with things looking worn and a bit neglected. The breakfast was laughable: the eggs, pasta, sauce, and other dishes were all completely cold, just as other guests have apparently complained about. Agoda room prices are a joke, and walk-in rates are cheaper, so be aware before booking. The worst issue was having no water from 8 pm for two hours, so we couldn’t shower or use the toilet. Nobody told us, and the only phone number we had couldn’t be reached at that time. That felt very poor and disrespectful from the owners and indifferent staff.

It was cleaner and better than we expected, with good service and a helpful receptionist. The bathroom is quite small, but manageable. The location felt just right if you want somewhere quiet and peaceful.

The room was tidy and clean, with a comfortable bed, and there are good restaurants within walking distance. You can also walk to where you catch a bahtbus to the beaches. Breakfast came with our booking and was a tasty buffet with plenty of choices, though nothing extravagant. Good value for the price, and we’ll probably return. The hotel is conveniently near the nabaan pier. Booking through Agoda was simple, and check-in was quick. There was a deposit fee, which is common at many hotels, so keep that in mind. The staff were all really sweet and nice to us. Guests can rent bikes cheaply, and beach towels are available to rent for 30thb.
