Khaosok Boutique Camps

The view when you wake up is fantastic, and the atmosphere in the vault was really special. The room was clean and had good air conditioning, though it smelled a little musty. I wondered if moisture was building up in the AC because of the temperature difference outside and in the room. The staff were very friendly and courteous, and gave great help booking excursions and tours. At breakfast and dinner, though, they seemed a bit overwhelmed taking orders, so coffee or food sometimes took a while to arrive.

The tent-style rooms have no WiFi, so you’ll be a bit unplugged, but it’s available at the restaurant and that worked fine for us. The place has a gorgeous, relaxing feel. The pool really needs some TLC, though, it’s looking pretty tired. Still, a very nice stay. 😊

We spent three nights at Khao Sok Boutique Camps for our honeymoon, in the Romantic Signature View room. It felt like glamping up high in a beautiful jungle forest, with amazing views. The room was clean and the air con was comfortable. Restaurant food was decent, if pricier than elsewhere in Thailand, and you’re somewhat limited to what the resort has available. The service was excellent, and everyone was so sweet. Esa was especially kind and attentive, and really looked after us. Keep an eye out for four cute cats who may come by looking for treats and pets. A unique experience in Thailand, we recommend it!

We booked two separate beds at Khao Sok Boutique Camps but got one double instead, probably a booking company mix-up. They asked if we wanted two blankets, which was thoughtful, but later forgot and we only got one. I was sharing with a friend and I’m a notorious blanket stealer, so he barely slept. Not the most restful night for him. The camp itself was beautiful, surrounded by nature, calm and peaceful. Food tasted fresh and homemade. I’d have liked a few more choices or to be asked our preferences first. Breakfast leaned sweet, so on my healthy diet I ate maybe 20% of it. Dinner was tasty but quite fried, which isn’t my thing at night. It’d probably suit most people, I’m just a bit picky with food. Aside from that bed situation, it was a lovely stay. The nature and serene atmosphere make it a place worth visiting.
