Khaosok Rainforest Resort

I liked the big River view deluxe balcony room, comfortable bed, and strong AC. The water got perfectly hot, and the location was a real plus, with the National park, restaurants, minimarts, and bars all walkable. I skipped breakfast, but the Thai food I ordered from the restaurant was very nice and arrived quickly. A couple of service things could’ve gone better. My laundry wasn’t ready at the time I was told, even though I came when asked. At checkout, I’d been told someone could help bring my suitcase to the lobby because it’s a bit of a walk. I asked, but the songthaew came back with one item while my partner carried everything else. Neither issue spoiled the stay, and I’d recommend the place and come back. The staff member who checked us in was very friendly and did a great job.

The pool is gorgeous and long enough for laps. Our suite was very spacious, and there are also Villas for families and bigger groups. From what we saw in town, this seemed like the fanciest and best hotel around. Its restaurants are open to the public, as the resort only has 6 rooms. We enjoyed the organic food and the choice of two restaurants. We preferred the one near the rooms and reception, surrounded by lovely gardens, over the one lower down the property. When our bedroom AC wasn’t working properly, they moved us to another room for the night, brought in a technician the next day, and offered each of us a free massage. The Thai massage was excellent, and they turned a service problem into a positive. We had a lovely time near Khao Sok national park.

The village location was brilliant, and I’d stay here again. We spent two nights in two double bungalow-style rooms. They weren’t huge, but the modern decor was done to a high standard. Monkeys came by every day, making it great fun to watch them safely from our rooms. The beds were comfortable and the A/C was good. Breakfast was just okay. I wouldn’t book trips through the hotel: our overnight floating bungalows stay arranged there wasn’t the best, though we got the experience, and that counts for something.

These cabins have a nice half-jungle feel, and the people are friendly. Keep the doors locked, though, because the cheeky monkeys know how to open them. The forest, water, and wildlife are woven into the park, with amazing jungle sounds day and night. There are air conditioners too, and you’ll need them. Everything you need is just around the corner. A great place to stay.
