Karon Sea Sands Resort

We’ve stayed here several times and have always really enjoyed it. Some work was going on recently, but it didn’t bother us, and we never noticed noise from the road or nearby. We also ate at the resort’s Irish bar, where the food and atmosphere were excellent. The resort is great value and well placed right across from the beach. Breakfast was excellent, and the happy, helpful staff made it a friendly, safe-feeling choice for families. Fantastic place, we’ll be back. See you next time! Mark.

The lobby has a nice, relaxed feel, and the morning breakfast area was enjoyable. They changed up the hot buffet items, and there’s an egg station where they cook to order. There were always plenty of padded lounge chairs in the shade. We stayed three nights in a poolside room and loved the resort and its friendly, engaging staff. The room was really large, with a spacious bathroom, shower, and tub. Air conditioning and hot water were perfect. There was a big window and sliding glass door to the balcony, with two chairs and a table outside. Inside, there was a lounge couch beside the window, plus a table and chairs. The king bed was super comfortable. Bedside tables had power plugs and USB charging ports. Other things included a huge new TV with mainstream streaming services, kettle, fridge, robes, safe, real glasses, umbrella, slippers, clothes drawers, and wall hooks for hats. There was also a drying rack.

The breakfast at O'Reilly was excellent, and the staff were fantastic, friendly, and spoke well. The rooms are nice, but the floors sound hollow, so footsteps from upstairs or next door can be disturbing. If you can, try for a top-floor room. The beach is right across the street, but renting beach chairs costs 200baht. I’m not sure whether Karon Sea Sands Resort has its own small stretch of beach. During our stay, upgrade work was going on and the pool was closed off, so the sea was the only place to cool down.

The location was unbeatable, and the hotel and rooms were impeccably clean. Staff were consistently kind, attentive, and professional. Breakfast had a wide range of high-quality choices. Everything exceeded expectations, and there was nothing to criticize. Highly recommended, a great stay from beginning to end.
