Ritsurin Boutique Hotel

Clean, good value for the money, and easy to walk to Old Town from here. The catch is its location where two busy roads meet, so it may not suit you if you want somewhere quiet.

The traffic is noisy at all hours, and people slam doors late into the evening and night. You can hear just about everything, so bring earplugs. It’s probably fine for one or two nights. The service was genuinely good, with free water, a smooth check-in, bathroom extras and a working safe. Someone did have to come by to fix the safe, but it works now. The room was very warm when I arrived late at night. The bathroom window had been left open, and I assume it had been that way for a while. There are no screens, so mosquitoes got in. The air conditioning itself worked well. I was put off by all the reviews saying how hygienic the place is. I found several hairs in the bed, and the bathroom door had lots of splashes, so it wasn't all that clean. The mini lobby feels a bit gloomy. There’s an elevator, and snacks are sold downstairs by reception, though the area doesn't look as inviting as in the photos. The intention seems nice.

A clean, really good hotel. The staff were friendly and professional, and the laundry service was good too. I’d definitely recommend it.

We had a lovely three-night stay. The room was simple, with basic amenities, and they changed the towels and linens each day. In the lobby there’s a small snack corner with free bread, bananas, cookies, tea and coffee. The vending machine came in handy for late-night cravings, since there aren’t any convenience stores outside the hotel. The old town is less than a five-minute walk away, and there are a couple of cute cafes right outside that worked well for breakfast. My only little complaints were the lack of a full-length mirror and bathroom water that was lukewarm rather than hot. A special thanks to the very friendly, helpful receptionist whose name I wish I’d gotten. On New Year’s Day, she went out of her way to arrange a bike at the last minute and kept us updated until it arrived. She also helped us book an airport taxi for our last day. We had a great experience and would recommend the hotel.
