Arita Hotel

I felt uncomfortable the whole time. The staff were rude, insulted guests, and seemed to keep an eye on nothing. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The stay was a complete letdown.

The room was dated but manageable, though the smell was awful, and I'm usually not fussy about that. At check-in the receptionist seemed angry and negative, saying it was because she was busy. I cancelled after that. People in Thailand are usually so friendly, so this was a real disappointment.

The room was decent enough for what it cost, but the reception staff made us feel unwelcome. They never smiled, and if you needed help, you could forget it. Nothing like the friendliness I'd expect in Thailand. A real shame.

We stayed five nights, and when we checked out they wanted extra money because the towels were dirty. They weren't damaged, just dirty, and when we said we shouldn't have to pay for that, the manager started shouting and called the police. We've stayed in lots of hotels where dirty towels are handled by housekeeping, and none charged us extra for laundry. The staff were rude throughout, wouldn't greet us or answer questions, and made rude faces. Not a star from me. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
