The Arbern Hostel x Bistro

The staff were polite and friendly, which is the one thing I can praise. The room itself was a letdown. I booked the best room available expecting a nice view, but it didn’t look like the photos at all. It felt more like a budget dorm or boarding house than a 3-star hotel, and I regret staying here. The mattress sagged badly in the middle, so I couldn’t sleep well. At this room price, that’s unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel based on my experience.

Nothing fancy, just spotless rooms and a place that feels well looked after. The staff were friendly, relaxed, and around whenever I needed something. Good vibes, and I had a great stay.

Sleeping here was exhausting. The air conditioner made a constant low hum, and turning it off didn’t get rid of the noise. Soundproofing seemed practically nonexistent, and at night the stray cats outside the window screamed loudly. It was painful trying to rest. This place couldn’t manage the most basic thing, letting guests sleep. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We were very happy with our stay at The Arbern Hotel x Bistro, and would consider coming back to Phuket. The hotel and bistro offered good value and excellent service, and we’d recommend it if you want somewhere clean, comfortable, and central. The ground-floor bistro quickly became our regular spot. We liked the freshly made food, good coffee, and relaxed atmosphere. Getting around was easy on foot from the hotel. We could reach the Old Town, restaurants, cafes, and markets without renting a vehicle. The modern, minimalist design was noticeable as soon as we walked in, and cleanliness seemed to matter throughout. Our room was bright, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was cozy, the air conditioning worked well, and the mini-fridge, kettle, and complimentary tea and coffee were enough for us. The bathroom was clean, and the free toiletries were replenished regularly. The staff were another highlight. Reception and the rest of the team were friendly, professional, and helpful with questions. Their tips on places to visit, transport, and dining were particularly useful. A few room details could be better. There wasn’t an outlet by the bathroom sink, or an easy-to-reach plug on one side of the bed. Neither the deluxe room nor the room with a terrace had a full-length mirror or luggage stand. Those would have made things more comfortable.
