Xinlor House

Everything felt new and fresh, and the industrial-style interior is really cool. The hotel is right in Old Phuket Town, with everything in that part of Phuket within walking distance, and the Wi-Fi worked well throughout. The staff were super nice too. There’s no breakfast at the hotel, but good breakfast places are basically next door. I booked because the place looked stylish, and it lived up to that. I’d recommend it for an overnight stay in Old Phuket Town.

The main problem was the noise. My first-floor room faced the hallway, and the doors and other guests passing by were clearly audible because the rooms aren’t soundproofed. I warned reception soon after checking in that I was worried I wouldn’t be able to sleep, but they said there were no other rooms. I was awake all night from the noise and had to book another hotel. Only when I insisted on a partial refund did reception call the manager, who mentioned a second-floor room where it wasn’t as noisy. By then, I’d already paid for somewhere else after being told there were no rooms available. Xinlor hotel wouldn’t refund even half of what I’d paid, so I lost the money for the three nights I’d booked. Very poor service and no integrity. Avoid unless you can sleep through any amount of noise or get a second-floor room.

The building’s architecture is gorgeous, and I loved how plants are included throughout the design. The staff are kind, and the bed and pillows were the most comfortable I used during my whole time in Thailand. The cafe downstairs also makes a delicious strawberry matcha.

The room was clean and good, and the rates felt fair. I had a really pleasant stay and would book here again if I stay in Phuket Old Town.
