The Slate, Phuket

The Slate Phuket felt like a real escape. Mornings with birdsong, gentle rain, and all the surrounding nature made the place feel peaceful and calm. Every staff member was warm and respectful, and their sincere “Sawadeeka” greetings made us feel welcomed and connected to Thai culture. We loved the food, especially breakfast, with its fresh, tasty variety for different preferences. I'd recommend adding it to your booking. The spa was another highlight. My husband and I had the Relaxing and Fusion Massage, and both therapists were skilled and careful. We left relaxed and rejuvenated. It was one of our best massage experiences. Our room was clean, neat, and well maintained, though The Slate has its own character rather than the usual ultra-modern luxury hotel look. The hot shower was especially comforting after a rainy day. If you want nature, good food, a lovely spa, and Thai hospitality, this is a wonderful place to unwind. We'll definitely return. 🫰🏻

The breakfast was amazing, and there was 24-hour access to the beach. I also loved the pools and bars, some of the best I've experienced, with separate pools for adults and kids. The gardens and infrastructure were beautiful, and the staff were welcoming and very polite. My one issue was privacy in the villa. Ours was beside the pool, so people swimming could see inside, and guests in neighboring rooms could easily see our private pool.

The location right by the beach is excellent, in a fairly quiet area, and there are plenty of pools, bars, and restaurants to choose from. Service was great as soon as I arrived. My room was perfect, and although I didn't use the outdoor bath, it was a really cool feature.

Breakfast was a highlight, a huge spread with lots of choices, easily a 9/10. The only real slip was on departure morning, when they seemed to miss the breakfast box they'd promised for our early flight. Service was otherwise warm and genuinely helpful throughout. The resort's industrial-meets-Thai design gives it a personality of its own, and there's enough between the pools, restaurants, and activities to keep you happily on site. It's clearly geared toward families, with lots of kids and things to do, though the adults-only pool area is 14+ and offers some quiet. We didn't get to half the activities and regretted it, so leave time for them. It's an expensive hotel, as you'd expect, and there are a few small signs of age, though nothing major or experience-ruining. We'd absolutely return. A fantastic stay, 5/5.
