Asia Residence 14 Bangkapi

The room had cold water, cockroaches, a refrigerator that didn't seem to work, and no light by the mirror, so getting ready meant using the bathroom's strange lighting or doing makeup in the dark. For the third guest, they offered a sofa fit for a small child. We also had to walk to the far end of what felt like an endless second floor for the so-called VIP room, which was no better than the room we usually use. That room normally costs 590 Baht, but this year prices suddenly went up and we were told to take the VIP room instead. We've stayed here every year, but after the very unfriendly receptionist that evening, who acted as if she didn't care whether guests were there, we're done. One star feels like too much. Try the places near Rad Praow 130, there are lots of them and they're much cheaper.

During my stay at Asia Residence 14 from 11/25/22 to 11/29/22, I found huge cockroaches in the rooms. They sat on the walls and sometimes jumped onto the bed. I switched from room 438 to 437, but that didn't solve it, and the receptionists seemed calm about the problem. Check the video and photos, and be careful about staying here.

For a good price, this place is okay, though traffic means you should plan ahead. The 490฿ room needs to be reserved by phone in advance, and there are also rooms at 690฿. Motorbike taxis, taxis, and minibuses can take you to The Mall. Happyland food centre, street food, and restaurants are nearby, along with a fresh market, pharmacies, 7-11, Tawanna Market, and two malls. You can also take a boat to the Platinum fashion mall from The Mall Bangkapi Pier.

It's cheap and clean, with TV, WI-FI, and aircon. Happyland Foodmarket is very close, and The Mall, Bang Kapi is nearby too.
