The Hi Place (SHA Extra Plus)

The seminar rooms were comfortable, clean, and well lit, and the hotel provided good lunches with a different menu each day. We stayed ten days for an important seminar about Roi-Et's role in rice production in Northern Thailand. In general, the hotel reflected the best the region has to offer. My room was a good size, clean, and well appointed. The spacious Breakfast Room was well stocked, and the service was excellent. Each day there was a wide choice of local dishes, including rice and noodles with fresh vegetables and dips or sauces, alongside Western breakfast foods like sausages, fried eggs, baked beans, and hash browns. For stays longer than a week, there's a large supermarket with the same name in the same compound, probably owned by the same company. The main shortcoming was Reception's ability to help sometimes, since not all the staff speak English.

Parking is a real plus: it's spacious and free for guests. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast deserves a mention for being varied and really delicious. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and the hotel has charm, though I thought the price was a little high for the room standard.

The room costs way too much. There aren't any sockets by the bed, and the bathroom upkeep is awful. The tap is loose, and shower water runs out from under the glass partition onto the floor. Breakfast was okay, but music from a bar or club was loud at night.
