Marigold Sukhumvit

Samrong has a local feel, with both Thai and Burmese influences, and the hotel is in an interesting part of Sukhumvit. Staff were very friendly and the room was excellent. For 10 baht, the local songthaeow minibus goes to Samrong BTS station and saves a 10-minute walk.

This is a good choice if you value a quiet neighborhood and don't mind being some distance from central tourist spots. Local markets and several 7-Elevens are within walking distance, while the sky train is about a 15-minute walk away. The hotel offers shuttles, though I didn't use one. My room was decent for the price, with daily cleaning, free water, and good air conditioning. I did sometimes find a cockroach in the room, though, so there was a bit of a bug problem.

It's easy to get around the city from this hotel, and if you call a Grab, it comes right to the entrance. The place is beautiful, with lovely rooms and furniture. Service was very good, and the staff were all very nice and sincere.

The door sounds were a little frustrating. They could happen at night when neighbors forgot to close their doors, so maybe something could be improved there. The location was good, close to the BTS, Big C, hairdressers, and massage places. I spent a couple of days here and had a really nice stay. The staff were brilliant and helpful, smiling as they opened the door and helped with our luggage. The atmosphere was very good, and the rooms were clean, with cleaning done every day. There was a fridge in the room. The hotel also has a free pool and gym. The gym could use a refresh, but it's fine for basic exercises. I'd fully recommend this hotel, which deserves at least a 3-star rating on Google.
