Possibly the best pizza I’ve had in Thailand. The Italian-Sukhothai wood-fired oven is distinctive, and the ingredients are excellent. I tried half salmon and half truffle, and both sides were delicious. The crust was traditionally thin and crisp.
The pizza was unreal, such good quality that you wouldn’t expect to find it in Thailand. Even if you’re staying at another guesthouse, go try it. The guesthouse itself was clean and accommodating, with towels available for free and linen provided. The owner also gave us a map and explained where to go and the city bus fare to the historical park. I’d book again, 10/10.
We were disappointed with what we ordered, though maybe it just wasn’t our day and other dishes are better. The pizza came with barbecue sauce instead of the tomato sauce we expected, and it was too sweet. The shallot was overpowering too. I wouldn’t recommend that pizza. The carbonara didn’t seem to have heavy cream in the sauce, just oily garlic and salty bacon.
I can’t speak to the guesthouse, but the pizzas are amazing. I didn’t expect this kind of quality in Sukhothai. It’s great seeing people make a difference in their community through their work. Watching the Thai lady pizzaiolo toss the dough in the air like a pro was so cool. Wood oven and all that. If you like pizza, this is the spot.
The pizza came out in under 20 minutes, with a thin, crisp yet chewy crust and fresh ingredients. The lady making it makes the work look easy. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the outdoor setting was nice.
