Khaolak Summer House Resort

A good-value resort with a small pool, good air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Great beaches are close by, and breakfast and laundry services are available. It’s a five-minute walk to Khao Lak’s main area, with plenty of food options.

The pool was nice, the room was clean, and it was quiet while still being close to the main road. But the mattress was really bad, we could count the springs. This part of Khao Lak felt very touristy to us. We’re a couple who usually prefer somewhere off the beaten path, and thinking it over, we’d stay in the southern part of the city next time.

The bungalows have loads of character, and the rooms are spacious and very clean, with a bedside socket, fridge, and air-conditioning. There are shops and places to eat nearby, and the beach is a 10-minute walk. Parking for cars is on the grass opposite the entrance, while scooters and bikes can be parked inside the entrance area. This is a locally owned, family-run place with lovely people. Boom, if I’ve got her name spelled right, runs it. She’s lively and loves a chat, so allow 10 minutes, or more like 30. Breakfast is freshly made on site at a very reasonable price, with toast, eggs, pancakes, fruit, and more. If you like English-style tea, ask for very hot water 😆

We stayed for six nights and found the price very reasonable. It’s a new hotel with clean rooms, a big pool, a good cafeteria, and very friendly staff. I’d strongly recommend it.
