The views are great, and the location and value are hard to beat. All the rooms are on floors 8 and 9, with a wide hallway. None are close to the elevators, which is useful since they’re quite loud, especially the one on the left. The beds are nice, though the pillows are hard and unforgiving. Our room had no shampoo or body wash, which seemed odd, and I’m not sure if that was just an oversight. Breakfast was decent. Compared with some nearby five-star hotels, Shumon is an easy choice.

We had a clean, well-kept room on the top floor, though the bathroom was a little small and the elevator was a bit slow. The hotel is centrally placed near plenty of sightseeing spots and restaurants. Breakfast was included and very good, with lots of fresh fruit and healthy options.

The staff were the highlight for me, always friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean. On weekends, Shumon hotel has a stage where famous saxophone musicians perform. It’s right in central Dushanbe, close to the large park with fountains and paths, and the national Museum about Tajikistan’s great history. The Georgian cuisine is well known and, in my view, the best in Tajikistan. I tried the delicious meat-filled khinkali and lamb with baked rice, all fresh and inexpensive. Shumonhotel. Com is an amazing tour Stars hotel, and I’ll definitely come back.

The restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices and stays open from 7am to 11pm. The rooms are large, and all the facilities worked.

For USD 55, I had a single room with breakfast included. It’s a conveniently located, clean, nicely run mid-range hotel that feels worth the price. Credit cards are accepted.
