The Rumi Hotel & Residences

Whenever I come down an hour before breakfast closes, the dining area is almost empty. There’s no food or warm options, and nothing gets replenished. Staff don’t try to replace anything or offer alternatives, as if service has already ended, though it’s still within the stated hours. The downstairs service at Roomy Hotel has been consistently disappointing. The staff are disrespectful and unprofessional, and it’s frustrating to pay for breakfast that feels like a waste. Guests shouldn’t feel rushed, ignored or treated as a nuisance for arriving during official service hours. I hope management takes this seriously and improves both the staff’s attitude and how breakfast is organized. As it is, the service doesn’t meet the standards I expect from a hotel.

I arrived late at night and found my room wasn’t clean. Then every night an advertising light shone straight into the bedroom, so I couldn’t sleep. When I asked for help, staff were no help at all and just told me to close the curtain. Frankly, guests shouldn’t have to keep the curtains shut at night. If the curtain fixed it, people wouldn’t come to you for help. The stay was frustrating and the service was exceptionally poor.

The hotel kept directing us to the booking platform instead of taking responsibility, and all the back and forth left us feeling unsupported during an already stressful time. We contacted them several times and explained what had happened, hoping they might show some understanding or offer flexibility. Instead, the responses were rigid, with no willingness to change the dates or refund us. Unrest in the Middle East disrupted our trip, and we were devastated to miss an event that meant a lot to us and was the main reason we planned the journey. Policies may exist, but empathy should too. The experience felt cold and purely transactional, and was deeply disappointing. I wouldn’t consider staying here again.

The room was spacious, clean and great, and the free laundry for 5 pieces was a great perk. Everything else was perfect for me, but breakfast needs more variety. I barely ate anything. There should also be signs telling guests not to reuse plates at the buffet, which is unhealthy and disgusting. Some countries don’t seem to understand that you need a clean plate each time you go back. More staff supervision at the buffet is needed to maintain hygiene standards.
