This was my third time in Dili. The hotel is a 15mins walk east of the Palace, and the rooms are clean. They provide daily laundry service free of charge, and I couldn’t fault the meals: good portions and amazing flavours. I’ve stayed at other major hotels in Dili, and Pro-Ema restaurant has to be the best. The hotel and restaurant staff were amazing. They also had a lovely fruit bowl waiting on arrival and topped up the bottled water daily. Great place to stay.
I’m Australian and do volunteer church work. I’ve been to Dili many times since 2009, usually several times a year, and have stayed at a range of local hotels. I’m looking for a mid-range price, and Sunset Inn hits the spot for that, as well as its brilliant location, room quality, local food options including the in-house restaurant, and community benefit as part of a training outreach to vulnerable women. If you book, ask for a room in the new wing.
It’s an old building, and the rooms are quite basic, but clean, with a comfortable bed. The shower had very little water, though it did work. Breakfast was tasty and cooked to order, and I got daily laundry service, which was very nice. The staff were outstanding and very helpful. Excellent value for money.
Hemlal came to fix the AC and get the TV working. Such a friendly technician, and he kept checking whether I needed anything else. With staff like this, we’ll keep saying great things about your hotel. If I ever come for vacation, I’ll stay here, 10/10.
The room was fine overall, though it could use a bit more maintenance and care. The atmosphere is great, and the food is what keeps bringing me back. I’ve visited Sunset In by Pro Ema several times and always enjoy the wonderful food, it’s consistently a highlight. I stayed at the hotel from 19-22 September.
