Hotel L'ecrin Hammamet

The only good thing was the location. My room was filthy, with hair and cigarette debris in it. I complained to staff twice, but they didn’t do anything meaningful. The cleaner rushed through and changed nothing. Service was just as bad, they don’t seem to know what being a guest means. It was a complete disaster, and I’m never staying here again.

The location is one of the hotel’s best features. It’s in the heart of Yasmine Hammamet, opposite Cartage Land, so you can walk to the main tourist attractions. We also really enjoyed the clean pool, which wasn’t crowded. Staff were kind, especially the lifeguards, cleaning ladies, and animation team. Wi-Fi was fast and worked all the time in our room, the shower always had water, and the air conditioning was good. Despite the issues, we enjoyed our five nights and six days, mainly because of the location and pool. I hope they improve things so we can come back. The food wasn’t bad, but it could have been much better. The hotel’s private beach was closed in the height of summer, which is unacceptable. The elevator didn’t work, and since we were on the fourth floor, carrying luggage up and down on arrival and departure was tiring. The room needs work. It felt more like a cheap hostel than a four-star hotel. There was no mini fridge, and they charged extra to provide one, which is ridiculous. The door used a key rather than a card and kept getting stuck. In Room 2314, the shower hose had a hole, making showers unpleasant. The carpets were dirty, and housekeeping only came about every two days, not daily. They need to pay more attention to cleanliness.

The central location was excellent, and I liked the pool and the DJ music there. The basics in the room were missing: no TV, towels, or fridge. Dinner was poorly organized, with long queues and no food left after 20h. There wasn’t even a first-aid kit available.

The food was really bad, and the pool looked dirty enough that I wouldn’t swim in it. The whole hotel felt very unclean, and the workers weren’t friendly. I didn’t find anything good about the place. Don’t come here.
