I booked at the last minute because I needed a break. After reading the reviews, I wondered what I'd let myself in for, but on arrival the young receptionist greeted me politely. I was told the booked room was small, and I could upgrade to one in the main building. It had only a Juliet balcony, but I paid another 35 euro for the week and was glad I did. Even as a solo traveler, I like some space. The room was excellent and didn't smell like people had said. I'm three days in, and the worst reviews would make you cringe, but it hasn't been like that for me. For the money, it's excellent. The food selection is limited, though it is very early in the season, March 1. There are plenty of sunbeds right now, but you need to move with the sun if you want to sit outside. In peak season, there may be a fight for them: there are too many rooms for the pool and number of beds. The beach costs extra. Everyone has been happy and smiley, and I've found none of the rude staff people mentioned. Towels and rooms are dealt with daily, though the main season could be different. This is only my experience, but I consider myself honest. You're not paying five-star prices, and for what I paid, it's a brilliant hotel, close to everything. One last thing: there's a mosk next door. At 6 am and at regular intervals during the day, the call to prayers sounds as if the speaker is outside your door. I would definitely return, perhaps not in peak season. I stayed at another arsi hotel last June and couldn't get a sunbed by the pool. I'm partially disabled and really needed one. Somehow, whether German or Russian guests, the best beds were gone no matter how early you got up, despite the policy against leaving towels to reserve them.

For a short work trip, this place suited me well, and I’d book it again. The price was great for a standard room, and the location was really convenient. The food was okay, though a bit more variety would’ve helped. Most of all, the staff were wonderful, from reception and the cleaning team to Mehmet in the restaurant. I have high standards, but I was very happy with the stay. Thanks to everyone who looked after me and my friend.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay here. The food was oily and very poor, with the same dishes every day, and there’s just one iron for the whole hotel. Our bed was two singles pushed together rather than a double, and the shower didn’t work properly. We could hear people upstairs, so sleeping was difficult. The staff seemed untrained, rude, and disrespectful to guests. In all my travels across 34 countries, I haven’t encountered people this horrible or unprofessional. I wish I could give the hotel zero stars. Avoid it.

There was a lot of debris along the beaches after major floods hit the area shortly before we arrived. We were also visiting outside the usual holiday season, so things were quiet and many restaurants and shops were shut.

The sewage smell hit us as soon as we arrived and seemed to hang over the whole property, from reception to the rooms and dining hall. The buffet area smelled of it too. Meals were the same bland options every day, the tables were dirty, and finding a clean free one was often a struggle. Staff seemed tired and uninterested, and asking for help felt like a nuisance. The pool was crowded and dirty, guests argued loudly, and nobody on staff stepped in. Sunbeds at the beach cost extra each day despite the all-inclusive setup, and even towel rental came with a charge. Our room was filthy and in poor shape. The sheets were stained and smelled bad, the tiny fridge didn’t work, and my medication spoiled in the heat. There was nowhere proper to hang wet swimwear, so the only option was an old, disgusting plastic chair on the balcony. The shower drained badly and left standing water. Our room wasn’t tidied for days, the towels were never changed, and the floors stayed dirty and sticky. I’ve never stayed in a worse hotel, and I strongly advise people to stay away. It ruined our vacation. Several of the five-star reviews also look fake to me, as if they might have been written by staff or friends to hide how bad the place is. Don’t be fooled.
