Anemon Kent Ankara Otel

The central location put shops, parks, and other places of interest close by, though the area was naturally busy and crowded. We had booked two family suites, and both rooms were spacious and clean. But the toilet setup was a huge problem: it couldn't be locked, and the walls and door were glass. That's not convenient for a family, or really for anybody.

The room was dirty and smelled of smoke, including the blankets, even though we'd booked a non-smoking room and had young kids with us. We told reception, but the smell remained after they tried to clear it. A chair and the phone were dirty too, and the room had barely been cleaned before we arrived. When we called for bed sheets, nobody came. The TV screen was huge, but less than a quarter of it worked, as the picture showed. There was also a window into the bathroom that made no sense. The staff seemed lazy, and I have lots of photos of the poor condition. I don't recommend this hotel, and it shouldn't have such a high rating.

The sheets seemed really dirty, and I wasn't sure they had been changed. I was sent a towel with a black spot and a pillow with yellow spots. Sometimes the room wasn't cleaned unless I asked, and there was no paper to hang on the door handle to show whether I was in or wanted it cleaned. It's hard to book a room that suits you here, they don't have WhatsApp, and the location is bad. Parking is difficult for people renting a car, and the place doesn't feel worth the price. At checkout, the receptionist claimed we owed another 3500 Turkish lira for an extra day, even though we'd already agreed how long we were staying and settled on the payment. It felt like a scam.

The location was perfect, just 3-4 minutes on foot from Karanfil street, bars, and restaurants. The elevator was quick, and parking wasn't a problem. The room and heating were OK, and the bathroom was quite big, but the TV felt too small for a suite. Breakfast was only about 6 out of 10.
