BMK Apart Otel

I felt very safe traveling solo here as a person of colour, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. The studio's layout gives it a functional division that makes it feel like a one-bedroom apartment. Its kitchen was well equipped, though it could use chopping knives and pot lids that fit. The automatic shutter switches and air conditioning worked perfectly. The bathroom was spacious, with strong water pressure and hot water in the shower, and the gardens were pleasant to sit in late into the night. A small shopping mall with a Migros supermarket is just a few minutes away, with other supermarkets and eateries nearby. The main open-air market is a 15-minute walk, and the coast is less than 12 minutes away on foot. It was perfect for what I needed.

The cats and the apartment layout were the good parts. When I checked in, there was a thick layer of dust everywhere. I texted the person at the front desk asking for something to wipe the place down, but got no reply, so I went downstairs. He had an attitude and acted as if he didn't know what I meant. I had to explain that I wasn't asking them to clean, since I'd been traveling all day and just wanted to quickly wipe things myself before showering and going to bed. Eventually the custodian brought glass cleaner and something to wipe with. No one came to clean during my stay, even though I requested housekeeping halfway through. When I asked about someone collecting the trash, I was told to take it out myself. I asked for trash bags and was told to get them at the store. I was glad when my time in Türkiye was over. This hotel was not good at all. The Australian man was rude and probably racist. He was only nice at first because he thought the man at the counter with me was my husband. When I said we weren't together, he had no problem showing his true colors.

The staff's attitude was the worst part. I asked them to clean because the room was dirty, but they rudely refused, saying cleaning only happens once a week. I felt like I was begging, and being turned down made me feel even worse. The floors were already stained when we checked in, and the bathroom floor towels quickly turned gray. The dishwasher had dirty dishes that looked left by previous guests, the electric pot was in terrible condition, and the furniture and fixtures were outdated. The towels left white particles on my face and body. I liked meeting lots of cats on the first floor, though. If cats bother you, avoid that floor.

I had surgery and was traveling alone in Turkey, and the staff kept checking whether I felt okay. They even brought breakfast to my door every morning. Everyone was really helpful and friendly, and the owner is a lovely, beautiful woman. I really loved staying here and will definitely come back!
