Casa Franco

The room was already dusty and smelled unpleasant when I arrived. Housekeeping was hit and miss, and basic requests were ignored or took too long. Staff didn’t seem interested in helping, and communication was poor enough to make small problems frustrating. What I found was nothing like the online listing, and the stay fell far below what I expected for the price. I wouldn’t recommend it or come back.

For what they charged, this place was unacceptable. The room had visible dust and bad odors, and cleaning was poor. Staff showed little interest when problems came up, and basic requests were ignored. Shared areas were crowded and badly maintained, while the service fell well short of what had been advertised. One of my worst hotel stays. I strongly wouldn’t recommend it.

I came across Casa Franco while wandering around Kaleici’s old town. The cosy feel caught my attention, and so did the price, which included breakfast. There was heavy rain and thunder during my stay, so I really appreciated having a warm room. It was my last night of the trip, and I chose a room without a window to save money. If I get to return, I’ll book one with a window.

We found out about the bed bugs after staying two nights. My boyfriend was bitten overnight, as shown in the pictures. I’d seen reviews saying the hotel had been cleaned and steps taken to get rid of them, but that wasn’t true. The location and room price may be good, but I still wouldn’t recommend staying here. Don’t stay, and cancel if you already booked.
