This is an area you really have to visit.

The best part was the big rooftop terrace, with the coast and Antalya harbor spread out below it. We had sun every day and spent time around the old harbor, where there were lots of restaurants and terraces. I stayed for a few nights almost 30 years ago, when it was cheap, about 15 guilders or €7 a night. Back then I only expected a room, bed, shower, and breakfast, so it turned into a lovely experience.

The room never got properly dark because the hotel opposite kept shining light into it, though the noise made sleep impossible anyway. When I went down to tell the man I was going to bed because I couldn't sleep, he was half drunk and asked, "What are we supposed to do? Die?" He seemed ready to start a fight, so I told him, "I'll be up until five, are you going to take us hostage?" and went straight back upstairs. The woman who greeted me at first was very warm. Things changed when the loud-voiced man took over the evening shift. He drank and sang outside the door until five in the morning. Don't go, you'll regret it.
