Kıvrak Hotel

The breakfast had some variety on display, but the food quality was poor. The pastries were burnt, stale, cold, or sometimes all three, and the scrambled eggs were so greasy I couldn't eat them. There looked to be four cheeses, but there were really only two, dressed up with sauces to look different. It felt misleading. The hotel bears little resemblance to the photos. Towels and sheets were gray and stained, mostly with rust marks, though they looked like they might be something worse and dirtier. Check my photos carefully. The phone was yellowed and dated, and the curtains were too short, with broken buttons, so they didn't cover the windows properly. The walls are so thin that I could hear my neighbor coughing, talking, snoring, and watching TV. Cigarette smoke from other rooms came through the bathroom ventilation. A smoke detector was only recently installed, so apparently there wasn't one before. I also photographed the laundry room where the sheets and towels are washed. The door was left wide open each time I passed, otherwise I wouldn't have seen it. If you want a clean bed and a good night's sleep without worrying about burning to death, I strongly advise against staying here.
