We stayed in your apartment across September and October for two weeks, and it was the best one we’ve had in three years of visiting Turkey. It was clean, everything worked, and it was close to the Old City, food, groceries, the gym and more. Thanks to you and your wife, Ozzy. We enjoyed our stay. After reading some reviews, I think people need to chill out. Ozzy’s a good guy, and everyone has their own personality. If he needs to water his garden so his plants don’t die, let him. People coming from other countries or parts of Turkey just need to deal with it. Wishing you and your lovely wife all the best, Ozzy. We hope to visit again, take care!

I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but this stay was stressful, and I want future guests to know what happened. Our first night was moved to a different room because another guest was in the one we’d booked. We agreed, but the alternative had a dangerously steep staircase to the bedroom with no handrail, no proper curtain or privacy from people outside, and a visible patio camera aimed straight at the front door. I felt watched and uncomfortable. Check-in was cold and unprofessional. The host focused on strict house rules and spoke negatively about previous guests, rather than welcoming us or sharing useful local information. Later, we couldn’t find a trash bin, so we left our bagged rubbish near the indoor recycling containers and told him since there were no instructions. He replied rudely and passive-aggressively that this was strictly forbidden and “not nice.” We had to turn back just to make him happy. He also accused us over the front gate being open, even though we had clearly closed it, and monitored us on security cameras. While we were still staying there, he wanted to enter the property to “water plants.” That felt intrusive, and there was no sense of privacy. After checkout he left an unprofessional review claiming we’d left the room messy, though he hadn’t mentioned it at checkout. We took out the trash, and no other host has made that complaint about us. We’d paid a cleaning fee, but there were no cleaning supplies for guests to use during the stay, despite his high standards. The most disturbing part was seeing the host repeatedly walking around shirtless and visibly sweaty while “cleaning” and preparing for new guests. It felt unhygienic and unprofessional, especially given how strict he was with us. I hope this helps others avoid an uncomfortable stay. If you’re after a relaxing holiday without all that tension, I’d stay somewhere else. 🙏 PS: If you look into it further, you can find how unprofessional he is when responding to bad reviews on his Airbnb profile.

The place itself was really nice and clean, though the school next door could be disturbing. We had a difficult check-in because our taxi driver couldn’t find the location and we arrived late. The host wasn’t willing to understand the delay, and we almost got checked out before we’d checked in. I don’t think 15 minutes should have caused an argument. We were also asked for a 100€ deposit at check-in, with no advance notice. For our 05:00 checkout and early flight, the host had to inspect the flat before returning it. After the tense arrival, he was really unfriendly at checkout too. As you can see below, the owner replied six months after I wrote this review. I’m sure he still remembers me and my bad intentions, or maybe anyone who doesn’t like the host has bad intentions, who knows. ;) However nice the place might be, I’d recommend staying away because of this host.

I was there this summer and left after just one night, even though I’d booked six days. The host was rude and I didn’t feel welcome, so I had to move elsewhere.
