Ozkavak Hotel Kaleici

The food was varied and delicious, with lots of grilled vegetables, and the staff were incredibly friendly and polite. The hotel is right in the heart of the old city. There’s also a wonderful pool with loungers, and the air conditioning made the hot days more comfortable. The rooms are gorgeous, with beautiful handmade painted walls. The design upstairs is lovely too, and there’s a really comfortable, attractive lounge area by reception. Even the entrance from the street makes an impression. Thanks for such a comfortable, wonderful holiday. I’d happily return again and again, and give it 10 out of 10.

We got a great bed and breakfast deal, so our expectations weren’t high, but we were impressed. The beds and pillows were really comfortable, the shower had good pressure, and breakfast came as a platter of Turkish treats that clearly had a lot of love put into it. Staff were helpful with directions and anything we didn’t understand. It’s a dated hotel, and the shrubs by the pool could be trimmed to let more sun through for pale Irish skin. Still, it’s right in the middle of the old town and somehow away from the noise. It has a homely feel and seems family run. I loved seeing the very placid spaniel around the hotel, and there were turtles out the back. Thank you for a lovely stay. We’d definitely come again. Barbara and Jacqueline

The location is excellent, just a short walk from the main attractions in Kaleici, and the owner was very nice and helpful. He arranged a late checkout and helped with our luggage. Our stay was badly affected by weak water pressure, which made it impossible to shower in our room. We were offered another room in a different building for showers, a real inconvenience. The Wi-Fi was also unreliable throughout. The owner said the new building had been renovated and didn’t have these problems, then offered us a small room there for the same price, which wasn’t convenient either. I’m disappointed that we received no compensation for the issues.

Han was always ready to help, and the staff were friendly. The service was good, the hotel very clean, and the location excellent. Thanks for a lovely stay!
