Karaca Dag Evleri

We’ve been going every year since it opened. There’s a lot I could say, but you should go and experience it yourself.

While the city was in the 40s, we found peace and cool air here. The owners are excellent, and this is a wonderful place for a calm holiday surrounded by nature. We try to come every year.

There’s a samovar in the shared area, so you can make tea or coffee whenever you like, and in the evening there are home-cooked meals like your mother used to make. The lovely owner makes you feel as if you’re visiting her own home. It’s apparently especially beautiful in winter, just saying. This place has a special spot in our hearts. Whenever it rains, we think of the night we stayed there: thunder and lightning, heavy rain, and us waking at 3 am to watch it from the bungalow balcony. The air was a little cool, and the smell of the earth was wonderful. :)

We didn’t want to leave. KARACADAĞ FOREST HOUSES is a peaceful, comfortable, enjoyable place to unwind, and it’s a must-see, even though it isn’t luxurious. After seeing Yuvacık Dam online and liking it, we searched for somewhere to stay and came across these forest bungalows. The good reviews convinced us to set out from Istanbul toward Yuvacık Dam in Kocaeli. The drive took about 1.30 hours along a road with views of the forest and dam lake. There are 8-9 bungalows among huge trees, and the air is cool. The owners, Gülten and Yılmaz KARACA, greeted us with incredible friendliness and warmth. Yılmaz also guided us on a magnificent tour of the area. It dropped to 12 degrees at night, and we slept under blankets. Go see it. Thank you, Karacadağ. Seval and Aytaç Güldamla.
