Mert Hotel

I'd never canceled a reservation before, but this room was terribly dirty. It smelled of smoke, the shower drain looked as though it had never been cleaned, and the gas stove had no cylinder. The sheets were dirty and torn, with hair all over them, and there was mold in the refrigerator. They kept 20 euros from the 72 euros I paid when I canceled. Even an inexpensive room needs to be cleaned once in a while.

Do not book this hotel. We had booked and paid online, but when we arrived they told us there was no room. Another employee showed us two rooms that needed cleaning and said they'd be ready in half an hour. We agreed, but the manager, Mert, wouldn't let us stay because we'd booked for only one night and the two rooms were too much trouble. We were three hours from home and had a small baby with us. The whole chaotic situation was unacceptable. We paid for nothing, and getting our money back was a complete mess.

The online listing shows 800.00 TL, but when you try to reserve, the lowest price is 1600 TL. It feels like they're trying to mislead customers and see if it works. I sent complaint emails about the hotel to the Consumer Arbitration Board and the Ministry of Tourism. A woman named Göksan answers the calls, and her tone is needlessly irritating. The whole interaction leaves you with a very unpleasant impression. They're deceiving people.
