Luvi Cave Hotel

Staying in a cave hotel added a unique and memorable touch to our Cappadocia visit. We also loved the sunrise view from the beautiful terrace, where we watched hot air balloons fill the sky. There were plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, so exploring the area was easy. The staff were warm and welcoming, especially Boris, who gave us helpful recommendations and assisted with our bookings throughout our stay. We had a wonderful time at Luvi Cave Hotel and highly recommend it.

Boris gave us a useful introduction to Cappadocia at check-in, with tips about tours, places to explore, restaurants and cafés. The team and customer service deserve a special mention, and the place really does deserve its high rating. We loved the fresh ingredients and wide choice at breakfast. Our room was well designed and decorated, and since we were there in winter, the hot shower pressure and heaters in both the room and bathroom were much appreciated. It's centrally located, with plenty of food nearby, from local and Western options to fine dining, burger places and Asian food. At the time of writing, Feb-26, renovation work was underway around the compound, including the rooftop. We noticed they generally worked from 9-9pm, but the noise and walkways didn't bother us.

We didn't get to see the balloons during our off-season stay last week, but it didn't matter. My girlfriend and I left feeling like people at Luvi genuinely cared about making our trip special. Boris and the team welcomed us more like friends arriving after a long journey than guests checking in. They upgraded our room without us asking, and turned what was meant to be a paid anniversary setup into a whole space decorated on the house. There were rose petals, a beautifully arranged room, a full birthday cake and a complimentary bottle of champagne. They said they felt bad that the balloons weren't flying that week. Boris sat down and hand-mapped Cappadocia for us, with hammams to try, local restaurants that weren't tourist traps, and viewpoints we wouldn't have found on our own. They marked landmarks around Göreme and showed us how to plan each day so we'd still have a great visit without the headline attraction. The front desk even checked in late at night to ask how our day had gone. In a landscape that felt like another planet, thousands of miles from home, we felt completely at ease. The hospitality and luxury matched a 5 star+ hotel, but the care made us feel like natives rather than tourists. If you do get to see the balloons from there, I'm sure it's magical. Even without them, we left with something special, the feeling that someone really cared. We'll be back, and even if the balloons don't fly next time, we know the people at Luvi will make the trip feel special.

I almost never write reviews, but I felt I had to this time. The staff were the best group I've come across. They welcomed me into their space, helped with bookings, offered live advice when I couldn't decide, and treated me more like family than a passing guest. It's a 10/10 experience, and I can't recommend Luvi enough. The rooms are beautiful in their own right and impeccably outfitted. The outdoor space is unbeatable, with unobstructed views across Göreme and to the mountains, plus more seating areas than I could enjoy. This is genuinely the best place I've ever stayed.
