Vista Cave Hotel

I was warmly welcomed at Vista Cave Hotel, and the room was amazing, with a balcony looking out over all of Goreme. Breakfast was very nice and had lots of different foods. Highly recommend staying here on a trip to Cappadocia!

The terrace had a beautiful view, and my room was comfortable. Şenol was very helpful with tips about Capadoccia. I had a wonderful stay and would stay here again if I return to Goreme.

The breakfast was mediocre, though my room was clean. I started out thinking this would be a wonderful stay at Vista Cave Hotel after a pleasant check-in, but the last night changed that. A friend came to visit for about an hour, not stay overnight. Around 10:30pm, a hotel associate knocked to ask when I was leaving the next morning. I thought it was a rude and unnecessary question at that hour, but said around 7am. My friend left, then at about 11:45pm there was another knock. The same worker handed me a phone so I could speak with the owner, who was at home watching the cameras to see who came and went. He flipped out, asking why I hadn't checked with reception, one floor up, before having someone in my room. I said I hadn't thought it was necessary for someone visiting, not staying the night. I told him I travel the world and had never had anyone react this way to a visitor. He said he didn't care about the rest of the world and that this was “rude” in his country. I stressed again that my friend was only visiting. He replied, “I know, I watched them leave!” Even though I felt those late interruptions were completely unnecessary, I apologized. He was frazzled and hung up on me. The check-in had been pleasant, but after the owner rudely blew up over a short visit, I can't give this hotel a good review. I don't know if he has prejudices or preconceived notions, but I can't imagine why a guest having a visitor for a little while would make him so angry. It seemed like he was sitting at home monitoring guests room by room and reprimanding anyone who had a visitor for an hour. I will never stay here again, and advise against it if you might have a friend stop by briefly.

The family who run this place were so friendly and helpful. We loved staying here. The hotel sits on a hill, just a five-minute walk from shops, with great views of the balloons launching at 5am. Our room was richly decorated and very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was a nice size with good water pressure. The ample Turkish breakfast was lovely.
