4 Angels Hotel

My flight arrived late, so I booked a room with late check-in. Reception confirmed I could come and check in, but there was nobody there when I arrived and the hotel refused to let me in. Booking.com had contacted them too, and they still wouldn’t check me in. I ended up spending the night on the street, even though the booking was non-refundable and guaranteed by credit card.

The garden view was a dull mix of half wall and half yard, and breakfast was quite modest. I booked the smallest room, 10 M2, and that was fine since I only needed somewhere to sleep overnight. I chose this hotel because it had one of the cheapest overnight transit offers in Istanbul. It seems relatively new compared with others nearby, but it’s maintained extremely poorly. If you’re staying longer than one night, I imagine you’ll need to ask for repairs straight away.

During my four days there, nobody cleaned the room, and there was hardly anything to eat at breakfast. When I asked them to improve things, they insulted me personally. The rooms are cramped and uncomfortable, with no amenities, and it was cold. They’d taken away all the remote controls. The elevator was terrible, and everything looked old and badly maintained. This hotel doesn’t deserve its rating. I hope the Booking team reviews and adjusts the overall score so tourists aren’t misled. I don’t recommend it, think twice before booking.

The owner threatened to hit us and call the police. At 6:00 AM she kicked us out into the cold and rain, with my young daughter, after we asked for a new mattress. The one we had was old and worn out, and the rooms we booked felt like tombs. The hotel owner is rude, deceitful, and crazy. Beware, and stay away from this hotel.
