Ajwa Sultanahmet Hotel

The rooms are exquisite, furnished with beautiful mother of pearl inlay, and they made us feel like we were staying in a palace. The location worked well for us, a short walk with my two young daughters to the blue mosque, grand bazaar, and aya Sofia. The staff at Ajwa sultanahmet were so accommodating to my family. My mother has delicate eyes, so we asked to have the white bulbs changed to yellow. They agreed straight away, and someone replaced every bulb within minutes. The breakfast staff saw my daughters and gave them a children’s colouring pack to keep them entertained. The concierge arranged hair appointments for them and helped us by speaking Turkish. When our external transport company failed to show up as we were leaving, Aycet’s staff promptly arranged a taxi and made sure we got local rates. I was very impressed with the service.

The area is interesting and rich, the hotel is clean and up to high standards, and the staff are welcoming and very helpful. The quality for the price is good, though worn towels in the bathroom could be replaced. I didn’t give five stars for two reasons. Zefferan has a very limited menu, and we found dining there once was more than enough, even though the staff were kind. Also, there’s no alcohol because the owner doesn’t drink. It’s 2026, and if I want a drink before dinner or a glass of wine to help me get through Zefferan’s food, I should be able to have one. You have to go out for a drink or a good meal, so you don’t feel very free. It’s a real pity and, in my view, poor management by the owners. The potential is high, but the result doesn’t match.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the rooms were beautiful down to the small details. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and both the restaurant and room service had tasty, interesting food. There were international options for picky eaters as well as local dishes with great flavor. Even with a couple of very rainy days, we had a great trip to Istanbul, thanks to this hotel. It’s a truly impressive five star place, and I’d highly recommend it.

The Bell Captain made the biggest impression on our family. He was warm, attentive, helped with our luggage, and offered assistance whenever we needed it. He always greeted us with a smile, and his kindness meant a lot to our three daughters. The rest of the staff were courteous and professional too. Ajwa Sultanahmet Hotel is beautiful, with elegant decor and a peaceful feel that made it seem like a home away from home. Our room was spacious and well maintained, and the hospitality was clear from the moment we arrived. We had a wonderful family stay and highly recommend it to families visiting Turkey. You feel cared for there, and thoughtful service makes a real difference.
