Antik Hotel Istanbul

The hotel is advertised as 4 stars, but it doesn't feel deserving of that. The rooms are small but adequate, and the food is good and carefully prepared. Still, the bathrooms always smell, and none of the breakfast area staff speak English. The technical problems were frustrating. I called reception for help with my door, but they sent the bellboy, who couldn't fix it. Technical support only comes in the mornings, so repairs have to wait until then, which feels dangerous. The lobby coffee shop's coffee is good, but the barista kept being in the restaurant when I went by. They called her, but the wait was so long that I went there myself. She seemed to be there only 2-3 hours, making it hard to find her for coffee. There's a shop too, but it's empty. The staff seem embarrassed by the system. There's also an interesting museum under the hotel.

It was my second visit to Istanbul and my first holiday with my daughter, and we felt very safe and comfortable here. The breakfast was great, and the staff were warm and helpful throughout. I especially appreciated that they upgraded us to a larger room so we had more space with the baby. I'd happily stay again.

We were there in cold, rainy weather, and the staff lent us an umbrella. They also held our bags while the room was being prepared and brought us tea and baclava, both of which were great. Everyone was kind and helpful. We'll be back. The hotel is central to The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Basilica Cistern.

Ali, Muhammet, Helin, and Maya were all wonderful, and the service was the cherry on top of a great stay. The location was excellent, and breakfast was great too. Antik Hotel was an amazing experience. I'll be back!
