Best Town Hotel

The hotel is great value for money, with a good breakfast and friendly staff. Its location is excellent, though the music from the restaurant across the street is noisy at night. The rooms also need some repairs and attention.

The staff were really friendly, especially the morning team. The location is nice and close to the metro. They could pay more attention to keeping the rooms clean.

I needed a short rest and sat at one of the two chairs beside a dirty table at Best Town Hotel to smoke. A young hotel employee asked what I wanted to drink. I said I was just taking a cigarette break, and his manner went from unfriendly to aggressive. He ordered me to leave, saying only paying customers could sit there. I told him I’d be gone in three minutes, but that only made him more aggressive. I’m old and had a lot of bags with me, which he could see. There was no hospitality in the way he treated me. What’s wrong with letting someone rest for three minutes? I’ll remember this whenever I pass the hotel.

The noise across the street made it impossible to sleep or even relax in our room. A building was being constructed there, with loud work continuing until around 24:30. Neither booking.com nor the hotel mentioned it before we arrived, and the listing didn’t describe it. From how far along the site seemed, the hotel must have been affected for days or possibly weeks and likely knew about it, but carried on as usual, putting guests’ health and its obligations as a booking.com supplier at risk. We also had trouble communicating because the evening receptionist didn’t speak English. The room hygiene was poor: there was mould on the bathroom ceiling and blood on the dirty towels. The food quality was bad too, including an egg with mould. We suspect the food hadn’t been kept refrigerated properly and that some of it was several days old.
