Georges Hotel Galata

The rooftop restaurant had amazing city views and food, and our room and view were a joy too. We were upgraded for our four-day stay. It was our first time in Istanbul, and we ended up canceling our old city tour because we fell in love with this area. Georges Hotel Galata is steps from the Galata tower, attractions, restaurants, and shops. I couldn't imagine choosing anywhere else for the true essence of Istanbul, Türkiye. From booking through checkout, the hospitality felt world-class. Alex Varlik, whom I met in person, told me about building the business and the passion and dedication behind it. I was inspired by how he maintains the hotel's quality, professional staff, and customer service. Yasin and the team welcomed us warmly and kept us happy throughout. They handled our special requests right away, and Yasin gave me great tips for getting around, including popular attractions, nearby antique shops and chapels, and lovely restaurants and cafes. The high ceilings, intricate room designs, and new, well-kept bathroom fittings all showed attention to detail and preserved the hotel's beauty. The staff made such a difference. The whole stay was a 10/10 for customer service, rooms and amenities, restaurant, and location. This won't be my last visit. BIG THANK YOU to Alex and the team for showing us how amazing Turkish hospitality can be! One thing had made me hesitate before booking: the negative remark by ‘Peter S.” from a month earlier, which Team google had not removed. As a first-time traveler to Türkiye, I found the remark absolutely baseless and untrue. After weighing it up, I went ahead, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my trip. I hope team google takes it down. It breaks my heart that one false remark could damage such an amazing hotel. I wish Alex and the team all the best and hope they keep providing world-class service to travelers through Georges Hotel Galata!

The view was the real highlight. We sat watching it for almost two hours, and it was totally worth it. We came for a quick business lunch and ended up having three outstanding spicy cocktails and a clubsandwich. The bartender and owner were both very nice, and even helped with some tourist questions.

Though the hotel is on a street close to the very crowded, touristy Galata tower area, it feels quiet and secluded. The rooms are elegant and clean, with all the necessities. Upstairs, the bar and restaurant have great views and serve a la carte breakfast. The staff were excellent and very helpful, including making dinner reservations and responding quickly on whatsapp. I highly recommend it.

Breakfast is served in the rooftop restaurant, but it's prohibitively expensive. We also ran into water supply interruptions and a shortage of towels. The Georges Hotel is in a charming historical building in the Galata area, close to restaurants, cafés, and shops. The reception staff were very helpful, and Yasin was especially friendly and supportive.
