Beyazit Palace Hotel

We stayed at Beyazit Palace Hotel in Istanbul with my husband and our 6-year-old son, and everything exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. The staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and always ready to help, especially with our child, which made us feel welcome and at ease. Our room was comfortable, clean, and fantastic for the family. Breakfast was outstanding too, with lots of variety and delicious choices every morning. We highly recommend this hotel to families and would happily stay here again on our next visit to Istanbul.

We felt comfortable the whole time, thanks to a kind and welcoming team. The room was thoughtfully laid out with the three single beds we’d asked for, and the bathroom was spacious with a very comfortable shower. Breakfast had lots of healthy choices. There’s also a rooftop terrace with a lovely city view, reached by elevator. The hotel is well placed for the tram and plenty of shops. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and professionalism. I’d happily stay at Beyazit Palace Hotel again on my next trip. Highly recommended ✨

We finally slept well after paying to move to a room on the 3rd floor. It had the large window, blackout curtains and quiet air conditioning shown on the website. The manager initially offered an adjacent room for free or that 3rd-floor room for €50. I negotiated it down to €40, which he accepted, though he made inappropriate personal remarks about me and my partner. Breakfast was still so disappointing that we gave up on it and went for brunch in town instead, which we highly recommend. The first night was miserable. We could hear reception conversations and staff in a nearby room because there was no sound insulation. The air conditioning was very loud, a toilet leak kept dripping, and sunlight came through the uncovered window. Earlier, we’d asked for the air-conditioning remote and were refused at first after 10 minutes of discussion. When I asked face-to-face and raised my voice a little, the manager handed it over forcefully, with protests. We’d booked an “economy” room, and the website didn’t mention significant differences from other rooms beyond the courtyard view, which didn’t bother us. On arrival, the manager spoke to my partner and said, “Ah, so you got her the cheapest room in the hotel.” My partner calmly replied that we’d chosen it to do better later. The manager insisted it was really bad and offered to make me sleep well for €80. I refused. The ground-floor room had one window, unlike the website photos, with no blackout curtain and only 10 cm from the hotel reception door. The heating was on full, but its temperature control didn’t work. It was 15 °C outside and probably around 30 °C in the room. The bathroom had a broken soap holder, warped faux-wood furniture, no ventilation, and other problems that didn’t fit a 4-star hotel. Breakfast the next morning was poor: no fruit, and the hot food was inedible, including dry scrambled eggs, bad sausages, fries and nuggets like those at the worst highway stops. The view was beautiful, though, and matched the website photos. When we explained the problems, the manager offered no free fix and said we’d have to pay €80 for a better room if we weren’t happy. Afterward, he canceled my booking even though I’d already checked in and paid, which temporarily stopped me from leaving an honest review. I had to contact Booking.com multiple times before it was finally posted. The hotel tried to silence me after what happened by canceling the reservation in the system. Our arrival and first day were a complete nightmare. At most, this is a 2-star hotel, run by a misogynistic and dishonest manager. Definitely avoid it.

The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet, even though the hotel is near a busy tram stop, so I could rest easily. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Breakfast was tasty, plentiful, and had a good range of choices. I had a great time here in Istanbul.
