Bright Apart Hotel

There was mold in the apartment, and even the prayer rug the manager gave me smelled moldy. The place was much smaller than described: it had just one 'living room' instead of two, and that room was barely bigger than a walk-in closet. The listing said two living rooms and a bedroom. The manager already had my card number, but still came down to the apartment about three times saying we needed to sit with her so she could collect payment. When I chose not to stay for my full reservation because of the size and mold, she tried to block the stairs to stop me leaving. She was very rude. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, not even a homeless person. It wasn't worth the headache.

Our first-floor apartment at Bright Apart had a bedroom, lounge, open kitchen/pantry, and a nice bathroom. The location is hard to beat: the Blue Mosque is a five-minute walk away, with Hagia Sophia only a little farther. We found a few nice restaurants nearby, along with a couple of small convenience stores and a very nice bakery. My wife and I highly recommend it for a stay in Istanbul.

A strange man came into the room through the ceiling without making a sound while we were changing. That was the worst part of an awful stay for four people. The apartment felt cramped and uncomfortable, and the toilet was so tiny it barely fit a person. The photos online were completely misleading, and the price was far too high for a place like this. We thought the floor with the two bedrooms was for our use alone, but the owner's desk was in the hallway. The young owner treated us very badly and rudely, and the doors wouldn't close, so anyone could just come in.

A clean, good apartment.
