Bvs Bosphorus Pera Hotel Istanbul

We paid in full for a deluxe room booked in advance, but never got that room, even for a day, and received no compensation. When we arrived, reception said they couldn’t find our booking and offered a lower category room without a sea view, or cancellation. With no other choice, we accepted. The dark loft room smelled awful. I went straight back to ask for a change, but was told they’d only do that if we hadn’t used the room or toilet. The sheets had stains and hair on them. They moved us to another room without a sea view, which was okay. The next day we got a sea-view room, but it was standard, not deluxe. It was small, including the toilet area, and the toilet was dirty. The previous room had been more spacious, with a larger bathroom. A woman at the desk offered a complimentary 30-minute hamam on our check-in day, but it wasn’t put in the handover book and nobody arranged it. On our last day, nobody knew about it. The receptionist said he’d check with a colleague; I asked around 9:30 to 10, and he got back to me after 12 to 1, when we were meant to go explore the city. There was no phone in the room, so any time we needed help we had to walk to reception. The staff were ridiculous and not helpful at all. They didn’t seem to care. I don’t know how the hotel has a 4-star rating when the service wasn’t even close to a 2-star hotel. You can find better deals elsewhere. Save yourself the trouble.

We celebrated my aunt’s 50th birthday in Istanbul with a family stay here, and had a lovely time. Ilker deserves a special thanks for helping with transport, suggestions, and arranging a beautiful Bosphorus boat tour. The staff were very friendly and service-minded. We also enjoyed the relaxing hamam. The rooms were clean and serviced each day, and breakfast offered a good range. The location was great, too. We’d happily return and recommend it to couples and families.

I really liked the room, and housekeeping kept everything clean and well cared for. The place has a beautiful, almost poetic atmosphere, which made the stay more enjoyable. The reception area felt warm and comfortable, and the staff greeted us with genuine smiles. They were friendly, helpful, and ready to assist, especially ILKER. The hotel is also very well placed for getting around, close to historical landmarks. Breakfast was good, though adding Turkish coffee would make it better. Best regards/Esraa

From the second floor, the view over Istanbul was beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious. The location made the main attractions easy to reach, and the staff spoke English very well, so communication was pleasant and easy. I spent three nights here and wish I’d had longer to explore Istanbul. The hotel is clean and elegant, and the service was outstanding. Mr. Serkan was especially kind and helpful, a real professional who clearly puts guests’ comfort first. I highly recommend the place and will definitely return.
