Catch Sultanahmet Hotel

The team handled our room change quickly when a health issue came up, and offered us a complimentary upgrade. We appreciated it and enjoyed the new room. All the staff paid close attention to our comfort and details throughout our stay. Breakfast was impressive, with a large selection of fresh, high quality food. The hotel is in a safe neighborhood and it’s easy to explore on foot, with many key spots within walking distance. We’ll come back on our next trip to Istanbul and strongly recommend it to anyone planning a stay.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with lots of choice and fresh tasting food. The staff were wonderful too, professional, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. But a couple of major problems with the room made it hard to fully enjoy the hotel. The room was very small, even by Istanbul standards, and there was barely enough space to manage my luggage. The biggest issue was the lack of sound insulation. The ceilings and floors seem thin, and I could hear every step from the guests above me. It was very loud and woke me several times during the night. Light sleepers should be aware. The hospitality and food are top notch, but the building has noise problems that need attention. If you stay, try to request a top floor room to avoid noise from above.

The breakfast room has a lovely view, and the buffet was great. The staff were kind, and Catch Sultanahmed is well placed for visiting nearby sights. We also enjoyed seeing the cats around the property. We stayed in spring, during the off season. Our room felt tight, with little space for bags, and both the room and its amenities seemed a bit worn. Sound carried easily from outside, so conversations and the occasional neighborhood cat fight were very audible.

Staying in these historic Ottoman wooden houses gives the boutique hotel a lot of character. The rooms are on the small side, though that makes sense given the preserved buildings and the fact that they can't be expanded. The location is great, and the staff were great too.
