Elit Palace Hotel

It’s not right in the middle of town, but the location is still good. The staff were pleasant, and having a quiet place in Istanbul was rare and really enjoyable, however long the stay.

The room had its own toilet and a safe for valuables like a passport. I liked the buttons for “do not disturb” and “ready for cleaning,” and the room was cleaned daily. One of the receptionists was rude, though. I asked him a couple of things and he ignored me as if I wasn’t standing there.

My stay was canceled just before I arrived because the price had gone up. I had to pay much more to find somewhere else, and when I confronted them, they lied to my face and almost attacked me in front of my family. They were rude and disrespectful, and didn’t honor their own promises or contract. I can’t find words for how awful this was. Any good reviews of this place are fake, in my view. Avoid it, or you may regret it as I do.

The window looked onto a creepy wall and what seemed to be an emergency staircase. Inside, the shower had literal trash and leftover electrical wires, and the floor was dirty. There was hair on the bed and the blanket covers were shredded. The wall sockets were blackened, as if overheated. The TV remote didn’t work, its battery cover was missing and the batteries were broken. There was leaked goo from them, and the so-called safe also had dead batteries. Worst place I’ve stayed.
