Endican Sultanahmet Hotel

The location is extremely convenient, with the main sights under a 10-minute walk away and the tram line at the end of the road. Staff were very welcoming and dealt with any issues right away. Our room was on the small side but fine for two, and came with daily cleaning and complimentary water bottles. The aircon stopped working once, but reception fixed it straight away. The bidet worked fine. The shower sometimes switched back to the handheld hose setting. A hairdryer was provided; it wasn't very powerful, but did the job. A pleasant stay :)

We were pleased with the value and would definitely return. My child and I stayed for a week in August 2024 and were given a complimentary upgrade to a standard room on the third floor, with a window at the back. The hotel was newly renovated and very clean. Staff were friendly, helpful, and offered tips. Cemberlitas Tram station is just 15-20 meters away, and restaurants, shops, and a supermarket are right outside, yet we didn't hear loud noise.

There are places to eat, a pharmacy, and souvenir shops close by, so it's easy to find what you need. The hotel is in a nice, cosy spot that's not too crowded, though most major sights are still 10-15 minutes away. Staff were friendly, helpful, and very polite compared with other places. Rooms were clean and had good AC, but we expected a little more space. Still, the room seemed about average for the price, and the street was somewhat loud. A good place for one person or a couple staying less than a week.

Ali handled the situation with understanding and spoke to us without an attitude. That stood out against our first interaction with the manager, Emrah, who I remember as having poor customer service skills. We had booked through Agoda, but when we arrived, we were told our room would be in the basement, something the website hadn't described. He said carelessly that the hotel didn't work with Agoda and made no effort to understand or help. Agoda was willing to assist, but Emrah didn't go out of his way either. We would've gladly paid for an upgrade if we hadn't been treated poorly at the front desk. As it was, it felt like being scammed and forced to pay more on arrival. The upgraded room we paid for ourselves was clean, but outside noise and light came in, making it unsuitable for light sleepers. The bathroom was small even for an Asian person. The blanket was too short, and at 159cm my feet stuck out, so we got cold while sleeping. Some people may not understand the situation, but I work in hospitality and can tell the difference.
